Hooded Patchwork Cape – Sewing Pattern PDF

Hip-length hooded cape • Women XS to 4XL • Arm slits • Patchwork • Hand zigzag seams • Hand blanket-stitch edges • Instant PDF download

A hooded cape pieced from autumn solids, plaids and small florals, quilted softly and finished by hand. Every seam carries a cream zigzag stitch and every edge a generous blanket stitch, so the whole cape feels slow, warm and personal. It is a lovely project for evenings with needle and thread ✨

You quilt flat panels first and stitch the zigzags while everything lies flat, then cut the cape out of the panels like fabric. Every edge is finished with a narrow dark brown binding, then blanket-stitched by hand in cream over it — the brown line and cream loops you see in the photos.

Questions makers ask

Do I need a special printer?
Nope! Every pattern is tiled to print on a regular home printer using standard A4 or US Letter paper — just tape the pages together and you're ready to cut. Prefer no taping? Each pattern also includes a large-format A0 file you can send to a copy shop, plus a projector file if you sew with one.
I'm a complete beginner — can I do this?
Absolutely. Our patterns are designed to be beginner-friendly, with clear, illustrated step-by-step instructions that guide you through the whole process.
How do I get my pattern after I buy?
Instantly. The moment your payment is confirmed, your files are ready to download — and we'll also email you a download link so you always have access. No waiting, no shipping.
Can I sell what I make?
Yes! You're welcome to sell finished items you make from our patterns. We just ask that you don't share, resell, or redistribute the pattern files themselves.
What sizes are included?
Each pattern comes with a full size range and a detailed size chart so you can pick your perfect fit before you start. All sizes are layered in the file, so you only print the size you need.
