PDF quilt pattern · Table runner plus 4 placemats · Confident beginner · Full-size appliqué templates · Instant download — no physical item shipped

A runner and four placemats, so the table is finished rather than half-decorated.

The design is layered appliqué on a quilted cream ground: poinsettias with individually cut petals and a cluster of gold-centred beads, holly sprigs with berries, and a scattering of small snowflakes across the background. A pieced checkerboard border in red and green frames the runner and repeats around each placemat, which is what ties the five pieces together as a set.

The runner has scalloped ends finished with a tassel. The placemats use the same border and a single poinsettia, so they coordinate without competing with the centrepiece.

Appliqué is the skill here, but the shapes are large and forgiving — petals and leaves, nothing narrow or fiddly. Confident beginners manage it comfortably.

  1. Download instantly. Your files arrive the moment your order is confirmed — nothing is shipped.
  2. Piece the borders. Checkerboard bands for the runner and all four placemats.

  4. Quilt, scallop and bind. Stitch the appliqué edges, quilt, shape the scalloped ends, and bind.
